Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her credits are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney was raised with four brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. But after she graduated from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. In her teens her first appearance as an actress was in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney, a young actress in the 80s, has been featured in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. While she has a career success, her personal one is not as content and successful. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
